Author: hotmessmeehan

I’m Nic. I’m an eccentric extroverted introvert who loves to make plans and cancel them. I somehow pull off an RBF while simultaneously looking like a cabbage patch. I’ve lived all along the East Coast chasing my dreams among the saltwater and roller coasters but finally landed and planted my roots in the sand of Pensacola Beach. I’m a creative soul who loves to write yet somehow found her career as a project manager in in the financial industry. I’m the wife of a wicked-smart engineer who is an amazing father.. yet is as quiet as I am talkative. I’m innately happy yet never satisfied, always yearning for more. I’m a self-proclaimed hot mess who runs on coffee, dry shampoo, sarcasm and self-deprecation. I’m many things but what I’m proudest of is being the mommy to my sweet boy, James. Being a mom in our current day in age, I’ve never felt more connected with the ‘mommy-comradery’… yet somehow so alone. I know in my heart-of-hearts, we’re all just winging it but with so much time spent perusing the internet, my intrinsic reaction is not just to compare myself to others, but more commonly than not, feel like I don’t measure up. This blog is my attempt to be the change I want to see in the world, to offer up an outlet to myself and other mothers, to be reassured we’re not failing and to enjoy the hot mess moments. This blog is to be nothing more than a metaphorically friendly hug. Here’s to being a mother hugger!
